MovieLakay.com ran into Frantzson Saintil a.k.a Frantz Design while he was jogging at Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. is currently promoting the new “Afro-Haitian” movie Mind Game starring Reginald Lubin and Van Vicker.

Mind Game premieres on Sunday November 22, 2009 at North Miami Senior High School.

    Haïti-Cinéma: Rex Théâtre et ciné Triomphe, les préoccupations de l’Etat

    Le ministère de la Culture a procédé à l’acquisition du Rex Théâtre et se propose de réhabiliter le ciné Triomphe qui est rebaptisé centre culturel du Champs de mars, a-t-on appris.

    Interrogée ce jeudi lors d’un point de presse sur la politique gouvernementale en matière cinématographique, de la sauvegarde des différentes salles de cinéma, le ministre de la Culture a répondu que des dialogues vont être entamés avec l’Association haïtienne des cinéastes (AHC).

    Cependant, pour ce qui est du rachat par l’Etat des principales salles qui ont fermé, l’on peut dire que ce n’est pas à l’ordre du jour. L’accent est mis sur la réhabilitation du ciné Triomphe qui devient le Centre culturel du Champ de mars, la remise en marche du Rex Théâtre racheté par l’Etat haïtien depuis quelque temps.

    Reynald Delerme, réalisateur et producteur, qui assistait à la conférence a confirmé à HPN l’ouverture de sa nouvelle salle de cinéma à Carrefour, au sud de Port-au-prince. Il a aussi annoncé la création de plusieurs associations haïtiennes de cinéma aux Etats-Unis….

    lol @ kuwosawa…. i was about to ask the same thing…what the hech is bellywood? I’ve also heard “nollywood” which is the nigerian movie industry but where in the world “bellywood” comes from. why can’t we be original.

    nice interview though – i always thing wrong of this guy but somehow i still give him credit for what he’s doing now in our community. good luck with the award show and show people that you can do something different

    Frantz Design ase achte figi lot nasyon, supote industri ayisien an. Why don’t you support the Haitian movies industry instead of supporting the African’s industry. The Africans don’t care about Haitian movies. They would never support the Haitian movies. The Haitian movies industry would never become huge because of people like you. Haitian actors, directors and promoters need to stick together, therefore we can take haitian’s movies to the next level. I don’t think african’s movies are better than haitian’s movies. Van Vicker is not the greatest actor in the world. We have a lot of good haitian actors out there that can do the same or even better than Van Vicker’s act. Give these Haitian actors work to do instead of giving them to African actors. I hope you learn your lesson mr. Design.

    B-roll, I agry with you about the fact that Frantz Design kissing up a$$ africain movie industry instead of helping his own haitian industry, I think the africain industry dont care about the haitian movie, look my haitian people I think it is time to get up and support our own culture not somebody else cultures like i see frantz design is hustler around to go to Africa.     Well i bet you the African pay promotions fee. Its time for you guys stop being a free loader. remember Frantz has the radio. although its and internet radio it could be very powerful. (voice) for those whose in communications you know this is why a radio license is not easy to get. I guest if you Directors OR FILM MAKERs out there start PAYING PROMOTIONAL FEES. People like Frantz Design, Movie Lakay, Bel film, will have more interest to push the Haitian market. I think one most important thing that is needed in the Haitian movie industry is marketing. because the African is no better than the Haitian. they sounds are the worst. But they are following Rules and Protocols.
