Had this movie refined the editing, had better lighting and better audio resolution, it would have been a home run.
The story plot is entertaining.
Geraldine always seem to spice up movies & bring forth unadulterated humor(Kudos to Him & hope to see him in many more movies)
This is one of those movies where I would seek out if people in my inner circle or at work had a copy before buying an original copy personally.

I was expecting a response from Pierre, not Ronald. Anyway, this is what I can say…movie making is an art but I have not seen that in most Haitian movies out there….they may have the best equipments to film, good lighting, etc…..but the stories, the acting, are so disappointing that the movie doesn’t entertain at all. “Mechan dou” is very different from the rest. It is original in the sense that it was filmed entirely in Haiti. The producer/director of this movie may not have the best equipments to film, but he used whatever resources he had and still came out with a movie that really entertains…isn’t that the purpose of a movie? to entertain? “Mechan dou” was released in Haiti the past month and it had attracted a big crowd (1000+) in Aux Cayes and other cities in the vicinity. This means that the movie really entertained the crowd. Mr. Calixte, the producer of Mechan dou, cared less about the amount of money he makes from his movie, otherwise he would have released it on dvd and start making a profit right away(and the bootleggers themselves will surely make a profit).But no, he’s not rushing it. He wants to attract a wider range of audience, not just the Haitian market. His satisfaction comes from the fact that people enjoyed the movie and were entertained and make them feel that they have not wasted their money. Ronald, I hope someday you will have a chance to watch “Mechan Dou”.

Ronald is so wrong, you got beef with the Mechan Dou movie. Usually people don’t even waste they money watching Haitian movie in theater any more; how Ever, people spend money to watch Mechan Dou more than 3 times. This producer is actually working very hard to bring the Haitian movie fan back into business. Mechan Dou is a virus says a movie fan, once you watch you will talk about it and you will tell your friends what you experienced. This movie is not even out on DVD yet every one talk about it. This Mechan Do is one of the highest demanding Haitian movie. More than two transportation buses in Haiti have already painted the movie poster behind they buses in Haiti and name them after the Mechan Dou. R E S P E C T.

Mechan Dou film cannot be compared to these other Haitian movies because it doesn’t belong to the same level as these ones. For someone who has seen Mechan Dou they will agree with me because Mechan Dou is a great film, full of action and comedy….very entertaining and stunts are real. So, Ronald, you shouldn’t make this judgement, you haven’t seen the movie yet, only the trailer. You are hating the movie based on the trailer only….you were saying in your previous comments that Mr. Charmy makes good trailers but “his movies are not good at all”? So what good is it to have a catchy or great trailer to show to your American friends when they will only be disappointed when they see a crappy movie? Remember you made a comment on “Bob is Back” on February 6…you wrote “good trailer, but I know the movie is not going to be good”…you have contradicted yourself…you need to see “Mechan Dou”.
