Life is hard in America for Papa Pyè & Gracieu. The only way out for Papa Pyè seems to fake himself as the biggest Haitian Boko (Voodou priest) in America. Things start to go well till he gets a visit from a real ghost (Dyab Baba) that he calls in by accident. To make things worst, Papa Pyè does not know how to send the ghost back.
Get ready for this hilarious comedy featuring some of the best Haitian actors, including T. Delerme, Daniel Adolphe, Esther Précial, Cedelaine Mauricette, Frantz Design, Réginald Lahens and many more.

this is insulting, very insulting. Raynald just have no respect for the industry, i wonder if his the one that directed funerail. because he has done nothing for the industry after 25 years what does he have to show for it DYab Baba he has a milestone of bad idiotic escuses for movie. in fact his son Tony is heading down the same failing route. i pray and i know TuTu will never put him in another movie.

One thing I know for sure Mr. Delerme is a man of knowledge and as for this trailer I don’t think no one should really criticize it yet. I would rather see it in a high psychological level. I think the title and the actions are enough to justify this trailer. “it’s profound.”

Movie fan you are so wrong! Mr. Delerme, Bob Lemoine and so forth are the God Fathers of the Haitian movie industry. They created the path for the rest of us. For that you should give a minimal of respect. as far as I’m concern you have no right to ask anyone to retire. Everybody entitle to their own life. if the man wants to make movie for the rest of his life; if that’s what make him happy let him be. Afterwards, I grew up watching Mr. Delerme in the sictom of Languichat, and he climed up the lather to be a filmaker himself that’s quite an accomplishment right there.
Please!

CRITICISM IS PART OF THE BUSINESS… MAKE NO MISTAKE, I UNDERSTAND THAT VERY CLEAR. BUT THERE ARE WAYS OF PASSING POSITIVE CRITICISMS WITHOUT DISRESPECTING THE ARTISTS… THIS FILM IS A COMEDY, NOT A SUPERHERO ACTION, OR RATED XXX ROMANTIC MOVIE… CRITIC THE MOVIE BASED ON ITS ELEMENT… AT THE END OF THE DAY, THAT’S HOW WE LEARN AND GROW FROM OUR MISTAKES AS ARTISTS… CRITICISMS ARE WELCOME FROM EXPERIENCED AND INTELLIGENT MINDS… BY THE WAY, IM NOT BEING ANYONE’S ADVOCAT… BUT AS AN ARTISTS WHO LOVE THE HAITIAN FANS AND RESPECT EVERYONE’S UNIQUE STYLE IN THE INDUSTRY, I THINK YOU GUYS SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE MORE RESPECT AND APPRECIATION FOR YOUR ARTISTS.. FROM A BUSINESS POINT OF VIEW, YOU ARE HURTING THE INDUSTRY WITH YOUR MALICIOUS COMMENTS FAM… “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE”

Hey Ladies and Gentlemen,
I second the reply Ms. Patricia Etienne. I am a stage actor in NY and I’m trying to get involved with our Haitian movie industry (Kreyol Boyz, L’Automne en 1000 morceaux, Attraction inedite) rf. http://www.woodyd.com.
I wish the critics woud take it easy on Mr. Raynald Delerme, maybe his approach might be incompatible to the aspiring actors and film makers, but instead of acting nasty about it, U guys should ask for a sitting with him, so U can come up with a common ground of agreement to move forward positively with this fragile industry of ours. But First we must show respect to each other and most importantly, a litte gratitude and recognition to the one who really started the commercialization of cinema in Haiti. Mr. Delerme U probably need to be more flexible with how U wish to kick off this great movement; as U need everybody to move forward with it. Don’t give up.
Woody D..

I had the chance to watch the movie “Dyab Baba” last Sunday, I have to say that the attendance was a success, the movie itself overall is funny, but there are some imperfection as “always” I am not saying this to bash no-one instead to encourage them. I believe everyone could divulge that the scenes of Papa Pye, Gracie and Dyab Baba work, however the sub-story with the three English boys (gangsters), the girl form kiskeya, the drug dealer and the police officer almost kill the story. You could feel every-time they cut back to these scenes it disturbed the audience, there was no meaning at all for these cutting back to the kitchen and checker game there are uselessness I understand what Mr. Delerme was trying to achieve by creating an alternate story but the gangsters scene did not help the story at all instead it drag the pace of the storytelling, it was really excessive that’s why the film was too long (2hours and some) where it could have been very less and still remain droll. The special effects were meager, and the police station establishing shot freeze frame quality is very poor. The scene when Dyab Baba intervenes to protect the big boss when the car left it is clear you see that same car comes back on the set (I guess the actors might thought the director calls cut already, but that could or can be fix). The gwo siro character is cool however how come he stayed so hygienic after walking for about a month from Miami to Orlando, it will be believable if at the end “Gwo siro” had grow beard, hair, clothes dirty, filthy, and messy at least. All this matter believes me. Watch Forrest Gump directed by Robert Zemeckis starring Tom Hanks and have an idea of what I am talking about. Well there are more to say but I believe these were the essentials. By the way I love the ending. Dyab Baba funny!!! go See it People… don’t listen to me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE. Notice that from Sept 24, 2009 when the first post came out on this site about me and my movie “Dyab Baba” to today, I did not make any response. Well, let me show why. Go through all the posts and notice that there are 2 kinds: anonymous and identified. Now read the identified posts first, then read the anonymous. Notice why the anonymous don’t have the guts to identify themselves. They are from weak, unworthy and low self-esteemed people. That’s why they have to hide behind a fake name. Words are as important as the one saying it. How much value do words have if the writer cant stand behind them? So to all the anonymous writers, if you want to put value to your comment, let everyone know who you are. Don’t be scared. Be proud of yourselves if you have anything to be proud of. And guess what? When I say Happy New year to everyone, you are included. By trashing me and my movie, you did great advertising for me. Thanks.
