Ce fut une période d’angoisse intenable pour nombre de nos compatriotes qui tentaient à just titre de fuir entre autres la dictature qui sévissait en Haiti.

Méristène (Numa Innocent), après avoir enseigné en Afrique, tarde à se faire une vie meilleure au Québec. Son épouse Hélène (), malgré sa grande générosité, ne lui falicite pas tout à fait la tache; il devient plutot la risée du frère d’Hélène, Anatole (), qui voit par ailleurs d’un très mauvais oeil que Métilom (Pyrrhus Dessaint), frère ainé de Méristène, vienne partager le même toit que les autres antagonistes.

Alors que Métilom fini par obtenir un visa de touriste et débarque à Montréal en pleine célébration de Noel, se noue son drame, un impitoyable destin marqué par des déchirements, des épisodes d’adaptations inachevées qui sont souvent le lot des sans-papiers.
