Following initial discussions with a number of our members, who have skills in the field of video editing, motion graphics and multimedia, we set about designing a system that would benefit Haitian Filmmakers.

The mother of Haitian star Mora Junior Etienne has died yesterday, November 23, 2009 after suffering a heart attack in Haiti. She was 61.

Mora is taking the news extremely hard and he has been left devastated by the death of his mother Ersulia Etienne.

Mora Jr., was in the process of promoting the upcoming showings for his new movie Le Prix a Payer, which will be playing at El Palacio Hotel in Fort Lauderdale on December 6th and Movie Lakay Team was deeply grieved to learn of this untimely death.

Please accept our sincere condolences Mr. Mora. Movie Lakay and our fans  wish you all possible comfort at this difficult time.

According to a source, the actor suffered a broken rib and a broken arm after he fell from a balcony.

Actor Desmas Duclair a.k.a Katalog was rushed to a Hollywood, FL hospital after falling from a balcony at his house earlier today, November 19. His representative just revealed the accident to Movie Lakay, testifying that the star suffers a broken arm and other broken bones.

Other friends announced the latest condition of the star via telephone, “He is a very, very lucky man. The accident could have been fatal.”

Katalog is now receiving treatment for the injury in a local hospital. With his wife days away from having a baby, we hope he gets well soon.

On Saturday November 14th, 2009, fans were packed half a dozen deep outside the St. Vladimir’s Parish Center in Uniondale, New York for the heavily anticipated romantic comedy Lanmou Infini movie.

Strolling a red carpet lined with stars from the film, Flore Dumeny, Inelda Jacques, Marc A. Jean and Watson Belizaire joined their director Evens Edouard and a special celebrity guest Frantz Design for the World Premiere of Even’s first film Lanmou Infini.

Haitian filmmakers Tony Delerme and Samuel Vincent and actor Daniel Adolphe submitted a superb video “Beware of the Stare” for the Doritos Brand “Crash the Superbowl” competition.

The challenge was to get together an idea for a Doritos brand Super Bowl XLIV commercial – it could be action-packed or funny – then write it, shoot it and submit it.

Make it as one of the 6 finalists and win $25,000. Then, if America votes it in the Top 3 submissions, the video will be aired as a Doritos brand commercial during the Super Bowl XLIV. [Read the full contest info here]

The call for Crash the Super Bowl submissions is officially closed on November 9th, 2009. Voting being January 5th, 2010.
