Cine Institute at Sarajevo Film FestivalAt last night’s official award ceremony held in the National Theatre in Sarajevo, Keziah Jean, a student at Haiti’s Cine Institute, collected the Katrin Cartlidge Foundation bursary on behalf of her school and her fellow students.

For the first time in the Foundation’s history the bursary was awarded to an institution rather than an individual. The curator of the 2010 award was Annie Nocenti.

raynald-delerme-dvd-piracy-blogThe president of the Haitian American Association of Filmmakers (HAAF) Raynald Delerme announced on Friday that an embossed seal, which will appear on the cover of his upcoming DVDs, will help customers know that they are purchasing authentic DVDs from his organization.

The embossed seal will be placed on the lower right corner of the DVD case, and it guarantees the DVD’s authenticity. If the seal is not embossed or not shown, the president asks to report it to the HAAF at 305.942.8348. Read more to watch the video!

Based in Jacmel, on Haiti’s southern coast, Ciné Institute began as a film festival. Held for three years, Festival Film Jakmèl showed hundreds of international films free of charge to tens of thousands of Haitians.
