Raoul Peck Joins Cannes 2012 Jury

 Haitian movie director has been chosen as a jury member at this year’s Cannes Film Festival along with ‘The Descendants’ director Alexander Payne, Wuthering Heights’ Andrea Arnold and French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

From left to right, top to bottom: head of the jury, Italian film director Nanni Moretti, British actor Ewan McGregor, Haitian director Raoul Peck, French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, German actress Diane Kruger, British director Andrea Arnold, French actress Emmanuelle Devos, US director Alexander Payne, Palestinian director and actress Hiam Abbass.

The festival opens on May 16, with Bill Murray drama ‘Moonrise Kingdom’.

Raoul Peck (b. 1953, Port-au-Prince, Haiti) is an award-winning Haitian filmmaker, of both documentary and feature films, and a political activist. Briefly, in the 1990s, he was Haiti’s Minister of Culture.
