natalie-sequel-news-blogSamuel Vincent‘s psychological thriller Natalie was so successful and well-received that the director is planning a sequel.

On January 12, 2010, Vincent updated his Facebook profile with the following message,

“For Those of You Who Were asking about #2, I have a big surprise for you. Stay tuned.”

(read the actual Facebook creole version below).

Samuel Vincent Facebook Natalie Sequel

I am surprised there hasn’t been an announcement already, as it seems pretty common to announce a sequel or spin off immediately after the movie hits theaters. I am also curious to see how they will develop the story, and if they are going to do something new and different for the sequel.

Although Mr. Vincent rarely gives interviews, Movie Lakay will try to conduct in in-depth interview with him where he can go into elaborate detail about the sequel of Natalie.

Discussion: Just what can a Natalie sequel be about? Do you think a sequel to Natalie is warranted? Or is it best left at one? What plot do you think the sequel should have?

Leave your comment below.

Stay tuned with Movie Lakay for future updates.

    Im on the fence on this one, the first thriller was really good but i dunno if it could work twice. I wonder how the script gonna look like

    I really enjoyed Natalie, but a sequel fills me with dread. If it is terrible, it will only cheapen the originals appeal.

    Lets just hope it reaches the same quality, but is very unlikely.

    Why all Haitian filmmakers are doing sequels to all the movies? Most Haitian movies have a #2 and the second one is always a copycat of the 1st one. Come on guys stop. why is he even making natalie 2 – i dont see the point

      @John
      Every successful movie is bound to get a sequel. If the movie seems especially promising, the sequel is in the works before the first one even comes out.

    It by popular demand. I remember I went to the premier alot of people were asking if there will be a second one “I” being one of these people. I spoke to several people who love the movie and want a second one with an ending like NATALIE it is open to a sequel…SO LET HAVE IT ALREADY..Looking forward to seeing the second one.

    PS. John I completely agree and understand with what you are saying MOST Haitian movies does not need a sequel,however NATALIE is one movie that Im dying to see part 2,I know i wont be dissapointed.
